CREATIV COMPANY

CASE AND RESULTS

The Danish company Creativ Company is a leading supplier of arts and crafts materials in Denmark. As part of their expansion strategy, they decided to extend their business reach into Germany. They knew the journey would require more than just translating their passion for creativity into another language. Entering one of Europe's largest and most competitive markets meant ensuring their German webshop was not only linguistically accurate but also resonated with the local audience, was user-friendly, and complied with local e-commerce regulations.

For their German webshop, Creativ Company asked us to conduct a Site Check of their website. We did so, and after having implemented the 29 specific recommendations from our German e-commerce specialists, Creativ Company saw a 94% uplift in their conversion rate.

"Leveraging insights from MakesYouLocal's meticulous audit of our German webshop, we've nearly doubled our conversion rate. Their expertise, deeply rooted in an understanding of e-commerce nuances and local market dynamics, has proved invaluable"

94% INCREASE IN CONVERSION RATE

Following the implementation of MakesYouLocal's recommendations, Creativ Company saw a remarkable 94% increase in their conversion rate. Their E-commerce Director, Peter Rahbek, attributes this significant increase to the site check that focused on enhancing the webshop's trustworthiness and user experience. By addressing key local preferences and optimising the webshop's content across various touchpoints, Creativ Company were able to foster a more inviting and seamless shopping environment for the German customers. This led to an increase in customer confidence, ultimately encouraging more visitors to complete their purchases and transform into repeat customers.

29 SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS

By combing through the webshop, delving into terms & conditions, checkout flow, product pages, placing test orders, and more, we identified areas areas where there was room for improvement: first impression, front page, ease of navigation, product page details, logistics, checkout flow, payment options, legal compliance, and language nuances.

Having divided the analysis into these areas, we identified 29 specific recommendations, ranging from typos, page speed recommendations, corrections of specific wordings, positioning of CTAs on product pages, placement of B2B information, mobile compatibility, logistics partners and more. According to Creativ Company's data in the months afterwards, the recommendations with the highest impact on conversion rate were adding DHL as a delivery partner, more aggressive communication about reaching a free shipping-threshold, and improving language quality. However, adjusting the base shipping price to below €5 was the single most impactful recommendation from the Site Check for the increase in conversion rate.

THE IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS

The majority of the suggested recommendations were implemented, and done so without much hassle: "most recommendations were easily implemented by our in-house editors and didn't require development, or complicated changes at all" Peter mentioned. Additionally, Creativ Company has put in work to optimise pricing, increased their marketing efforts, and improved product recommendations and search, all aspects that should help maintain high conversion with scaling.

With this, it's clear that thorough localisation has real impact on your webshop's performance and the value localisation provides is definitely attainable - it just requires the expertise from an e-commerce specialist that has been raised in the market of question.
